Which browsers do we support?
This site has been tested to work with relatively recent browsers (Internet Explorer version 6/7, Opera version 7/9 and Netscape Navigator or Mozilla version 7/8) on PCs running Windows (Win98 to WinXP SP2) and on Macintosh System 9 and 10. The site design uses CSS-1 Style Sheets.
Minimum screen resolution is 800 * 600 and the site layout will work at window widths down to about 740 pixels.
Some of the documents you can download from this site require Acrobat Reader or Microsoft Office viewers for Word or Powerpoint.
Known issues
Two common problems occur if the privacy settings on your browser and/or your internet security software are set to prevent personal information being disclosed.
The log-in box re-appears after you have logged in successfully
This occurs because your session information is stored in a temporary (per-session) cookie - a small snippet of information that is held by your browser and sent to our site with each page request. If cookies are disabled, we do not 'know' that you have logged on. Cookies are also used to hold the selections you make in the search pages.
Interactive forms (including the log-in form) return an error
When we receive a request to process form data, we do simple checks using information provided by your browser to check whether the data originates from one of our own forms or whether somebody is trying to use the site malicously. If your privacy settings prevent disclosure of visited sites (actually, the single page from which you have just come called the Referer) then we cannot do that check.
What to do about it
Firstly, see whether you can add www.eipdg.org to your browser's list of 'trusted sites' - that will normally fix the problem. If it doesn't, and you are running third-party internet security software such as Norton, then you may have to add an entry for www.eipdg.org and lower the security settings by hand. If that doesn't work, or you don't know how to do it, the next port of call is your IT support team.
